Off-Roading with the Jeep

With no church on Sundays, Anthony has climbed mountains with a Jeep of course. He bought this Jeep and was able to gear it all up for off-roading. He goes with his friend that owns a Jeep too sometimes. I believe all the kids have got once or twice with him. Sometimes they go shooting too. Anthony enjoys seeing the views with millions of trees and a snowy mountain.

Online Presentation

Rhett did his first presentation online through Teams with his class. They were finishing up northwest animal reports when school changed to distant learning. He finished his written report with description and defense mechanisms of bald eagles. We decided to build a nest and take pictures of a nest we always see on Cedar River.

The example nest is only 2.5 feet wide which is smaller than their average nests. The eagle was actually in his nest when we went to take a picture. It looked small, maybe a baby.

It was tricky to know how to share your screen with the class in Teams. I don't think Rhett would have figured it out, maybe Mrs. Parsons would have been able to talk him through it. Anyways, I sat next to him as he read through the report and show the two different pictures of nest. Of course I had a Zoom meeting at the same time Rhett's turn came to present. It is tricky juggling all these online meetings.

Distance Learning

Cami had her first online music class with her music teacher. It was a small group of 5 students. Hopefully it will be more next time. Myles and Rhett had music later in the week.
We designed our own cereal box for a different activity to do.

A couple pictures of Myles, after he or Cami complete an assignment I send a picture of it to Class Dojo for their teachers to see.

Easter

Cami, Grammy and I did a little early celebrating with an egg and bunny hunt at Allen park. 20 eggs were hidden to spy a the park and a dozen bunny rocks were you could take one. There was even a dollar coin hidden under the cute bunny rock.
On Easter the kids found a gift basket from Grammy. We watched some videos on the Savior's last week before the crucifixion and resurrection. Later each kid found 20 eggs in the backyard. Caramel slowly but surely participated. Myles had a construction truck help him.

Later they got a big plastic egg with some art supplies and candy.

Grammy purchased dinner for us all from Palisade. The kids loved eating ham as usual. Grandpa brought some fun sparking apple cranberry.

Turtle Time

Sunny weather so we headed to Seward park. Myles and Cami on their bikes. Rhett on scooter. Caramel, Grammy, and I walking. With everyone being older, it was the fastest trip around the park. It was busy at the start but thinned out as we journeyed on. We stopped two times. First to throw rocks and look a the I-90 bridge in the distance and second to look at the turtles. There were 14 turtles we saw total.

The playground was all roped off. The parking lot too since it was Friday. The city of Seattle closed parks for the Easter weekend. We parked in the neighborhood like others had done.

Creek Exploration

With a sunny week forecasted, we when to Kelsey Creek farm to enjoy some fresh air. Grammy packed us a picnic lunch and Myles and Cami brought their bikes. It wasn't busy and the playground was caution taped off like all city parks. After eating lunch, the kids looked at the sheep and got to pet a wandering cat. We followed at trail and explored the creek for a long time throwing rocks and testing the cold water. After we started to head back to the van, we walked into our neighbor friends with kids Myles and Cami's age. Too funny seeing them all the way up in Bellevue at Kelsey Creek.

River Wild

Checking up on the Cedar River and seeing how the river has changed after the winter. The kids enjoyed throwing rocks across the river. Myles dropped his stuffed bunny Bonnie in the river. Luckily it was saved a few hundred feet down the river where the current was slower and water shallower.

Rhett's Room

The room Rhett is currently in is getting a little remodeling done. One wall was thin wood paneling so Anthony removed it and hung drywall. He also scraped off the popcorn ceiling. Once the drywall was done, he textured the wall and ceiling, put in molding and a new closet. Then I painted everything.

Garden Walk

Looking for some new ways to be outside and entertained, we went to Bellevue Botanical Gardens with Grammy. The boys enjoyed running around. Cami brought Hudson, her boy doll. We mainly got here for the Christmas lights. New trails were discovered and enjoyed. And for course a fun rock!
