Astronaut Classes

There have been some fun online learning experiences because of COVID. One that I have enjoyed is Varsity Tutors interviews. One that the whole family watched was an astronaut, Leland Melvin. He was an entertaining funny guy. We have also enjoyed Mo Willems teaching drawing and about his book, Art of Kids Hub making fun drawings and Storybook Online that has famous people reading out loud picture books.

Week of School Lunches

My friend was delivering lunches for KSD and picked up a box for the kids. They were very excited to see school food at home! The milk carts are a favorite and usually the item my kids buy when they are at school. Myles is the only one that likes to buy school lunches normal at school. All the kids had fun looking in the box and seeing what kind of food was in it. A nice break in the distant learning schedule.

Black Jeep

Anthony decide to upgrade the Barbie jeep. He spray painted the body black. The boys watched him take it apart and modify it. It reminded me of Anthony's black truck. He recently put new gray rims on it and some spikes too. The spikes were a little unexpected.

Spring 2020

Spring 2020 An interesting update on this interesting time.

The spring we spent together, social distancing, and staying at home. Work- at home, church- at home, school at home, quarantined as much as possible - at home. School closed on March 13th. Gatherings all cancelled. Only essential businesses opened. Drive thru and pick up only for restaurants. Entertainment - all from home too. Toilet paper was scarce, essential food items were temporarily wiped out. Gloved hands, masked faces, hand sanitizer and hand washing on overdrive, and the recommended 6ft apart. Zoom calls with co-workers, teachers and friends. Endless screen time, constant snacking and also bickering. Late nights, grumpy kids, kids that miss their friends, lots of walks and bike rides. The days have been long but the weeks have flown by. COVID 19 as of April 23, 2020 850k confirmed cases in the US and 50,000 deaths.
