Moving Day

We moved the last weekend of March. Moving is very stressful even when it is only 1.5 miles away. Same zip code, same city, same stake, same gas stations, same grocery stores, but different school district and different ward. We had just finished the kitchen remodel, started the only full bathroom remodel, put our house up for rent and I was waiting to have my fourth child, when we decided to buy this house.

I was not very helpful in the house hunting department. I just focused on not wanting to be pregnant anymore and being concerned if we would have a working bathroom when I came home from the hospital. Our new house was the first house we looked at, also the closest to our old house. We looked at other houses and this house went pending, so we thought it was not an option for awhile. When the house came back on the market, Anthony had decided it was the house he really wanted. Main reasons being the size, shop, and remodel he could do in the dated upstairs. I love the location, not being farther south increasing Anthony's commute, the nice neighborhood with close park, more space, and more bathrooms!

We are basically unpacked, but not organized. Camellia has made that process slower. Caramel is enjoying her own room with castle image on one entire wall and built in cabinets and shelves (the room was used as a den). The boys, Rhett and Myles, are doing well together in a large room with all the toys. Camellia is in our room for at least another month, but has slept 7 hours a couple of nights, hooray.

There is a long list of home projects, we do have two pictures hanging on the wall. All in time.

We did switch refrigerators- that was interesting. The fridge did not fit out the front door of the old house/rental, so the front door was taken off the house and the handles on the fridge. At the new house the fridge didn't fit in the space provided, so it sat in the middle of the kitchen for awhile. Made me feel at home reducing the kitchen size. Once a cabinet and spacer were taken out, the fridge was finally pushed back into place. So the area above the fridge needs to be fixed up, but we have a nice big fridge still in the correct spot.

Other fun projects have been installing and stacking the washer and dryer. There wasn't a push to finish that until Caramel decided throw up in our bed. Throw up can change a priority list quickly. We had a leaking toilet which has caused the kids to think you should never flush even though it is now fixed. Also only lukewarm water in the showers which wasn't very enjoyable. Lots of little jobs, but with getting a house ready for renters and 4 young kids and needing to sleep, little jobs can take awhile to get to.

Rhett's Joy School

Rhett enjoys Joy school every Thursday. His friends all actually go to preschool Monday thru Wednesday. Rhett will be a grade level younger. Thank goodness for Joy school! Rhett is totally ready for school. He will start preschool next year. Rhett knows all his letters and we were working on sounds of letters before I got really pregnant and napping took over. Hopefully he hasn't forgot and won't be too shocked when we start practicing again. He is very confident in counting and when he skips a number or jumps to 100 after 19, he does not like you to correct him.

Recently, we started reading Fly Guy books and he loves picking those out at the library to read at home. We also have a couple books on CD; he really enjoys Dragons Love Tacos. He will quote it randomly throughout the day.

Joy school took a field trip to a fire station. Rhett was excited to show me his book and stickers. He was a little concerned the fire station had no dog.

A Great Grandma Visit

Great Grandma Wanda wasn't able to make it to the hospital for a visit. She made a home visit a couple days after to see Camellia. Camellia got some cute new outfits and was able to snuggle a little too with her Great Grandma.

Introducing Camellia Kranz

I was scheduled to be induced Friday, March 7th after passing my due date of February 28th. Myles was induced and I didn't enjoy it. On February 26, I was dilated at 2 cm and the ultrasound measured Camellia at 8lbs 9oz. On March 5, I was dilated at 3 cm. Later that night consistent contractions came! Camellia's labor was similar to Rhett's. I kept waking up with contractions bothering me. Finally at 2am, I was up and around 4am I made Anthony get up too. We called the hospital and waited a little longer as suggested. By 6am, we were in the hospital getting all checked in. Camellia was born at 7:45am at 8lbs 12oz and 19 3/4 inches long. With Rhett, we came to the hospital early morning as well, but he wasn't delivered until 10ish. Camellia came fast.

Right after birth, wipe the face, bracelet on, and rest on mom.
Her fast deliver put her at risk for infection of Group B streptococcus. This is a bacteria that I have tested positive with for each of my pregnancies. They like to have two doses of antibiotics in before delivery, but I only had 3/4 of one in a short amount of time. So we stayed a day longer at the hospital for Camellia. I watched a lot of HGTV which I have not done in years. I felt really weird to be stuck indoors for + 48 hours.

Ready to leave the hospital
Camellia had two really sleepy days which made me nervous. Activity level is one of the symptoms for possible infection. Luckily, she hasn't had any of the other ones. At her 1 week check up, Dr. Avalon said she looked really healthy. She has a wonderful pink color to her skin with her dark hair long fingers and toes.
