Introducing Camellia Kranz

I was scheduled to be induced Friday, March 7th after passing my due date of February 28th. Myles was induced and I didn't enjoy it. On February 26, I was dilated at 2 cm and the ultrasound measured Camellia at 8lbs 9oz. On March 5, I was dilated at 3 cm. Later that night consistent contractions came! Camellia's labor was similar to Rhett's. I kept waking up with contractions bothering me. Finally at 2am, I was up and around 4am I made Anthony get up too. We called the hospital and waited a little longer as suggested. By 6am, we were in the hospital getting all checked in. Camellia was born at 7:45am at 8lbs 12oz and 19 3/4 inches long. With Rhett, we came to the hospital early morning as well, but he wasn't delivered until 10ish. Camellia came fast.

Right after birth, wipe the face, bracelet on, and rest on mom.
Her fast deliver put her at risk for infection of Group B streptococcus. This is a bacteria that I have tested positive with for each of my pregnancies. They like to have two doses of antibiotics in before delivery, but I only had 3/4 of one in a short amount of time. So we stayed a day longer at the hospital for Camellia. I watched a lot of HGTV which I have not done in years. I felt really weird to be stuck indoors for + 48 hours.

Ready to leave the hospital
Camellia had two really sleepy days which made me nervous. Activity level is one of the symptoms for possible infection. Luckily, she hasn't had any of the other ones. At her 1 week check up, Dr. Avalon said she looked really healthy. She has a wonderful pink color to her skin with her dark hair long fingers and toes.
