Joyschool Graduation

Myles finished his Joy School year with his 3 friends. We had a little graduation with hats and receiving certificates then treats. They did throw their hats in the air too, super cute. It was a fun year and Myles enjoyed going every Tuesday. I am so glad he was able to practice going other places to learn without me being there with him. Next year is Cross and Crown Preschool then Kindergarten which is full day! Hopefully Myles will be ready for full day by then.

Barking for Benjamins

We finally got a tree and some small plants around the front of the house. The bark area got all torn up getting rid of holly roots and old "great I just found some more roots" roots. Once the dirt was all cleared we put in a cherry tree, oriental grass, and some foxglove.

Then some new bark, hooray. The Young Men did barking as their fundraiser that Anthony helped with. So we finally got the front yard looking better. Some neighboors have fun rock designs. This is my simple attempt.

Blacklight Fun Run

Anthony and I and a group of friends all signed up for a fun 5k. It was at the Puyallup Fair grounds in the evening. We carpooled down with another couple and met up with more couples there. It wasn't very dark when we started the run but still fun. Lots of fun glow in the dark powder. At the end we listened to the music with lots of glow sticks and glow powder everywhere.

Art Walk

This year I was Caramel and Rhett's art docent for their school class. It was fun teaching and learning art with the classes. To end the year the PTSA organized an Art Walk night. I helped hang up art in the hallway so each class had 2 projects hanging. The night of there was a scavenger hunt, 5 different art stations, a raffle drawing, and a photo art piece.

Mother's Day

On Mother's Day we first went to church, the topic for sacrament was obedience. Both speakers joked that all they need to say is obey your mother and that would be good enough. When it came time for the Primary kids to sing only Rhett went up. Caramel had fallen asleep and Myles didn't want to go. Rhett did an excellent job, huge smile on his face the whole time.

After church we ate lunch and had naps. Caramel wasn't feeling that great so she stayed home with Grandma Brenda. Grammy Pam and the rest of the family headed out to Kubota Gardens in Seattle. It was super fun for the kids. All the little pathways, bridges, and waterfalls were exciting to explore. At the very end we found a pond with big fishes and a turtle. Rhett and Myles had some good giggles trying to call the fish and turtle closer to them.

"But why mommy"

Myles is in that "but why" stage. I am glad he cares to ask. But sometimes it is a never ending "but why" conversation. Recently, we stopped by Petrovisky Park and witnessed the destruction of a pathway. It was fun to see a dump truck and excavator in action. Lots of "but why" questions when the construction vehicles would leave.

One night Scouts was at our house and a Scout leader drove his dump truck to our house. Myles got to sit in the drivers seat and pull the horn a couple times. This Scout leader is Myles' buddy. Myles has even fallen asleep during Primary while sitting on Brother Krupp's lap.

Kindergarten Multicultural Night

Rhett had a fun multicultural night with all the Kindergarten classes, there are three total. The students sang and played musical instruments. A few students were dressed up in cultural outfits. After the songs and instruments, there were displays made from students about their cultural background with food samples. Lots for yummy food. Rhett just liked the sugar cookies one girl shared.

Kindergarten Zoo Field Trip

Rhett's Kindergarten field trip was to the Woodland Park Zoo. I was a chaperone for the field trip and had 3 boys in my group. We were the zebras with our zebra hats on. We were first on the bus and sat in the very back seats. Having a membership to the zoo, I had a few zoo maps at home I brought along for the boys to look at during the bus ride.

Once at the zoo the bug house was selected the first place to explore. Then the gorillas. There was a gorilla up in a tree which was interesting to watch. We walked around the zoo pretty fast seeing lots of animals. But the end the boys were dying to go to a playground and just play. The African huts and Farmland tractor ended up being were they could play for awhile before heading to the bus.

For the ride home we sat in the front. One little boy fell asleep. Back at school, I said good bye to my zebra group then walked home. It was a fun trip. Thanks to Grandma Brenda visiting for awhile, I was able to go.
